A Ridiculously Simple Way To Reach Your Goals

Based on the awesome book ‘The One Thing’ by Gary Keller and Jay Papasan. This book is invigorating due to the presence of just one question,

“What is the one thing you can do, such that by doing it everything else will become easier or unnecessary.”

The question forces you to focus, ignoring all the things you think you must do, and complete the task most important to reach your goal.

There are a few levels to the one thing – creating the domino effect of crushing goals.

  • What is your someday goal. Choose one thing.

  • What is the one thing that you can do this year to get you closer to your someday goal. After choosing this one thing come up with 3 priorities to achieve the one thing, and then 5 strategies to complete each priority.

  • What is the one thing that you can do today to lead you to successfully achieve your someday goal.

Goals are not achieved overnight. It takes many little steps in the right direction to lead you to achieving a large goal. This outline, which I advise you to complete, creates a GPS (direction) to ensure all of your efforts are moving towards one common goal.

And there it is, ridiculously simple yet so effective.
